She never had the chance to tell him they had filed for divorce because she was afraid of sharing the news with him.
After all, he might not be able to take the bad news when he wasn’t even in his prime in terms of health.
“He told me to take it easy since he had everything under control. Well, it’s just one of Yancy’s attempts to mess with him. The police from Jetroina had long taken her into custody. Therefore, you don’t have to worry as well.”
Rufus heaved a sigh of relief once he found out his so-called son-in-law was fine. Little did he know his daughter had been lying to him by repeating the information she acquired in the evening.
“I’m just glad things turn out fine for him! I can’t believe she’s such a vicious woman! She was nothing similar to her current self when she was affiliated with your mother back in the day!”
He got increasingly irked the moment he brought up Yancy in front of Sasha.
Sasha smirked and said, “It’s not much of a surprise for you and Mom to fall for her tricks when she could even trick Sebastian’s late father back into dancing to her tune back in the day.”
Unwilling to carry on with the conversation, Rufus started savoring the plate of fruits Sasha had served him.
It was then Sasha thought of getting her father a pail of water to wipe his body clean.
Out of the blue, Rufus asked, “Since she had thought of exposing Sebastian and Frederick’s relationship, did she mention anything about Frieda?”
Sasha, who was in the bathroom, answered without giving it much of a thought, “She did accuse Mr. Hayes of having an affair with Sebastian’s biological mother. Why?”
“If that’s the case, she’s in deep trouble because Frieda is Shin’s wife! If the Jadesons is aware Yancy has been trying something silly against Sebastian—”

Sasha dropped the pail of water when she heard her father.
Why have I not thought of this? We’re not the only ones aware of Sebastian’s actual identity!
His so-called father was never involved in an affair with his biological mother because she was pregnant with him when Mr. Hayes took her in!
The Jadesons will never forgive the ones accusing the successor of the family!
After linking the missing pieces of puzzles together, Sasha’s mind went completely blank. She felt a chill running down her spine and lost herself in a train of thought.
“Sasha? Sasha, are you okay?”
Rufus knew something was wrong with his daughter. Thus, he got out of bed and rushed in the direction of the bathroom.
It was then Sasha rushed out of the bathroom and mentioned, “D-Dad, I have something to tend to! Why don’t you go ahead and finish your meal without me?”
Her face had turned pale and haggard in a matter of seconds. She couldn’t even remain calm anymore as much as she was afraid of startling her father.
Rufus glanced at her and knew she had something else in mind even though he wasn’t sure of her concerns.
Nonetheless, he could vividly feel her anxiousness and the feeling of unease bothering her.
“Well, just get going and take good care of yourself.”
“Alright, Dad!”
Sasha catapulted in the direction of the entrance and started blaming herself for neglecting the vital piece of information as soon as she finished her sentence.
If the Jadesons are aware Sebastian’s Frieda’s son, there’s a huge probability they have reached him! What’s going to happen to him if that’s the case?
Are they going to kill him or force him into submission and bring him away against his will?
She accelerated her car and whizzed through the bustling streets in fear of the things awaiting the man she once held dear in mind.
In spite of being hurt at the last moment of their relationship, she couldn’t help but feel concerned when she heard the bad news.
As soon as she made it home, she reached for her phone in an attempt to reach the man.
“Hello?”
“The number you have dialed is unavailable—”
Colors drained from Sasha’s face when she heard the default message of the system as her call couldn’t get through to the man.
Has he freaking blocked me? He’s such a heartless man! It has merely been a few days after our divorce! On top of that, he has never once expressed his concerns over me!
Sasha started burning with rage and got in touch with another person she had in mind.
The person on the other end of the call picked up the call as soon as it was made.
“Hello, Mrs. Hayes? What brings you to me out of the blue?” Luke asked in a hushed voice, indicating he was equally astonished by her call.
The observant Sasha knew something was wrong when she heard the man. She asked, “I have just come across the news! Is everything fine on your end? I-Is he fine?”
She stammered when she brought up Sebastian during her conversation with the man’s assistant.
Luke shook his head and assured the woman, “You don’t have to worry, Mrs. Hayes. Mr. Hayes is doing just fine. In fact, we have just wrapped up another conference.”
The doubtful Sasha asked, “Are you sure you’re not lying?”
Out of nowhere, a man’s voice could be heard, asking because he was irked, “Luke, what do you think you’re doing? Have you nothing else to do? Why are you in the middle of a call?”
Luke and Sasha were at a loss for words when they heard the man reprimanding his assistant.
