“Hey, what are you doing? Why did you take my camera?”
Kurt ignored her.
His eyes were filled with a murderous aura. After taking out the memory card from the camera, he smashed the camera to the ground, and it broke into pieces.
“Kurt Lopez!” Vivian was finally angry.
“What the hell are you doing? Why did you destroy her camera? What’s wrong with me taking a picture? Does it even matter to you? Aren’t you being too full of yourself?”
Vivian berated Kurt. Her words stabbed his heart like a sharp-edged sword.
Kurt clenched his fist so hard that his knuckles turned white.
After breaking the memory card, he turned his darkened face toward Dwayne.
“Yes. This is my duty. You’re not allowed to take pictures with anyone without your family’s permission. It is even forbidden to have close contact with anyone. It is my job to protect you. If you have a complaint, you may take it up to your father after he wakes up. But before that happens, you’ve to get my approval before making any decisions!”
It was as if Kurt had completely changed into a different person. While emanating a chilly aura, his eyes had darkened as he shot her a frosty glance.
That was the first time he revealed his identity to her.
Everyone else who was present felt as if they had suddenly been struck by lightning.
Vivian, on the other hand, was rendered speechless.
She stared blankly into his huge obsidian eyes as if she had heard something mindblowing. However, she didn’t believe a word he said.
He’s actually the bodyguard that Daddy arranged?
So is he like Mr. Frost?
Why?
Why haven’t I heard about this?
“Kurt…” She felt as if something was drifting further away from her. She got so scared for a moment that she wanted to reach out and grab him.
However, Kurt loosened his grip.
“Rest assured. I will not stand between the two of you. I will only stop anything from endangering your safety. I will not interfere with anything else.”
Then, he threw away the broken memory card in his hand and walked away.
Vivian was completely dumbfounded.
Suddenly, she panicked and chased after him.
However, Kurt’s movements were quick. A few minutes ago, he was telling Vivian he was her bodyguard. But when she rushed out of the photoshoot studio, he was nowhere to be found.
He’s as fast as Mr. Frost and the others.
“Kurt…”
Vivian, who was only sixteen, stood at the entrance of the photoshoot studio and burst into tears.
Dwayne didn’t expect things to turn out like that. He glanced at the broken pieces of the memory card and the camera in shock. He no longer dared to act presumptuously.
“Vivian, I’ll send you home.”
“Go. Go away.”
Vivian finally got angry.
She was suddenly annoyed by Dwayne for some reason. If it weren’t for him, Kurt wouldn’t have confessed, and they would still be able to get along as usual.
However, everything had changed.
At the thought of that, more tears continued to stream down her cheeks while her heart ached even more.
At the same time, she suddenly recalled the events during the end of the year back when she was twelve. Kurt suddenly returned but then left because she drove him away. Afterward, he disappeared for four years.
So Daddy sent him away to train.

Vivian had a sudden revelation. She felt a hint of panic and immediately took a taxi home.
However, even after returning to Oceanic Estate, Kurt never appeared since that day.
Vivian felt so miserable that she struggled even to breathe.
She went to ask Jonathan, Devin, and Sabrina if they saw him, but they all said they didn’t and told her that he might have returned to school.
It seems like they have no clue about it either.
After all, Daddy’s plans are always the most secretive. Even in his unconscious state, he had meticulously planned his every move.
Suddenly, she thought of Kurt when he went to school with her when he was only ten years old.
She also thought about how he would always suddenly appear in the most unexpected circumstances in the past three years. He never failed to show himself, even when she was far away.
For the entire day, Vivian shut herself in her room and continued crying.
The next day was finally the day for her to attend classes again.
“Vivian, do you want me to pick you up?”
Dwayne, who hadn’t left, called again that day to ask if she wanted to go to school with him.
“No. Go ahead,” Vivian refused.
She then began to pack her luggage.
Sabrina heard the news and couldn’t bear it. She wanted to send her to school, but Vivian shook her head.
“No, Aunt Sabrina, I’m all grown up now. I’m turning seventeen after October. I can go by myself.”
Sabrina was rendered speechless.
That day, Vivian dragged her luggage to the airport by herself.
The airport remained lively as usual. However, when Vivian saw the crowd when she arrived, she suddenly turned around and started searching around the waiting hall.
He’s supposed to protect me.
Is he here too?
She suddenly realized that Kurt might be at the airport watching her. She dragged her luggage around and searched for him without even retrieving her boarding pass.
“Kurt, I know you’re here. Please come out. I was wrong, and I won’t be stubborn anymore. I’ll listen to you. Will you come out, please? Kurt!” she shouted his name loudly, and her voice echoed throughout the airport.
However, there were no signs of Kurt even after her voice turned hoarse from the shouting. Soon, tears rolled down her cheeks.
Maybe he won’t show up anymore.
Ever since that incident, he would only be in places where I couldn’t see him, just like Calvin.
