Chapter 1544 Part Ways
“So you’re here. Are you here to visit Sebastian?”
When Sasha returned to the room with her daughter, she saw the boy wiping the sweat off the bedridden man’s forehead using a towel.
She could not help but smile at the sight.
The room was quite stuffy that day.
Despite that, Sasha did not request for an air conditioner to be installed in the room. Since Sebastian was unconscious, not letting him sweat would lower his metabolic rate, which would be harmful to him.
After all, it was just sweat.
She only needed to help him change if his clothes got wet.
Hearing the gentle voice, Kurt, who was still carefully wiping off the sweat, immediately straightened himself and looked respectfully at the visitors. “Mrs. Hayes, Mr. Hayes is sweating.”
“Yes. I know. It’s my intention to let him sweat. Sweating is a good thing. It means that some of his bodily functions are recovering,” Sasha explained with a smile.
When Kurt heard that, his eyes sparkled, looking as though his entire body was filled with joy. “Really? Does that mean he’s going to be well soon?”
“Yes. He’ll be well soon.” Sasha nodded.
She was not sure if she was telling this to the boy or herself.
After staying there for some time, Kurt decided to return as soon as possible. After all, he had already sent Vivian home, and he still had classes to attend.
Seeing Kurt was about to leave, Sasha went into her room and took two sets of new clothes and a new smartphone. She even transferred a reasonable amount of money into the electronic wallet on the phone. “Here, take these. I bought these clothes when I went down the mountain a few days ago. I guessed the first thing Vivi would do is to go looking for you. Hence, I bought all these for you.”
“Mrs. Hayes…” At first, Kurt did not want to accept the gifts.
However, when he lowered his gaze to look at the clothes, he realized they were his size. It left him stunned.
Looking at the smartphone, he did not know what to say.
Although Sasha had been taking of Sebastian on the mountain for the past three years, she never forgot about Kurt.
Every year, she would prepare some money for his tuition fees and daily expenses. Kurt, who had been an orphan since young, was extremely grateful for this.
It was for this reason that he swore to never forget their kindness when he grew up.
In the end, Kurt walked out of the room with the items in his hands.
Meanwhile, Vivian had been waiting outside during the exchange.
Seeing he finally came out, she quickly rushed over to him. “Did Mommy really give you a new smartphone? Hurry, give it to me. I’ll help you set up your contacts and your WhatsApp too. Oh, and your international phone number. That’s the most important one. Otherwise, you won’t be able to contact me once I’m in Yartran.”
With that, she snatched his phone away.
Meanwhile, Kurt stood by the side and watched her silently.
Actually, he did not like using those things. Whenever he had some free time, he preferred to hide in a secluded corner and practice.
Hence, ever since Sasha gave him his first phone for his trip to Yartran with Vivian, the latter was the one who helped him to set it up whenever he got a new phone.
Around ten minutes later, she was done with it.
“Look. It’s all done. I even changed your profile picture to something similar to mine. I’m a little pig, and you’re a big, furry dog.” Vivian laughed in amusement as she tapped on her creation.
Kurt decided to just let her be.
Suddenly, Sasha walked out of the temple. “What are you doing, Vivi? Stop pestering Kurt already. He has a plane to catch.”
“Oh. Okay.” Vivian pouted and returned the smartphone to him.
After taking the phone from her hands, Kurt left the temple.
“Mommy, Kurt is gone.”
“He needs to go to school. Don’t be so childish. Besides, Ian and his friend, Duncan, will be coming back two days later. They’ll play with you then.”
“Really?”
Although the car had travelled quite some distance, Kurt could still hear the girl’s shrieks.
Duncan? The genius who’s sent to the military base?
At that thought, Kurt’s gaze darkened. In the next second, the charming face that was only relaxed for half a day returned to its bone-chilling expression, as if it was shrouded by darkness.
Meanwhile, Vivian waited in the temple for a week.
True enough, her brother finally came back with Duncan.
Ian was now staying at the base and was taking part in the research. Since he could adjust his studies according to his own time, he would always come back to visit his sister during the summer holidays.
“Ian!” Vivian had not seen her brother for a long time. Hence, as soon as she saw Ian, she immediately ran up to him with her arms wide open.
Seeing her running toward him, he reached out his arms and gave her a big hug, as usual.
Perhaps strangers would find this behavior of the two sixteen-year-old teenagers inappropriate. Even Duncan, who was standing by the side, blushed instantly when he saw the stunningly beautiful Vivian running toward her brother.
However, that was not the case for Ian.
He still acted naturally. Even though the triplets were all grown up, their relationship with each other was still like how it used to be when they were younger.
