Just as Gregory was trying to think of ways to persuade his father, he suddenly paused and realized that he had already agreed.
“You’re okay with it, Daddy?”
Surprised, he gazed at Nicholas with a sparkle in his dark eyes.
Seeing that, Nicholas softened his expression and said gently, “Yes, but during this period, you have to behave yourself and not annoy Miss Tessa so much.”
“I’ll behave myself for sure,” he assured with a nod, but as for the latter part, he pretended not to hear it
Not knowing what the little guy had in his mind, Nicholas dropped him off at the villa and went to work at the branch office.
When it was almost noon, Edward knocked on his door and came in.
Fixing his eyes on him, Nicholas asked with a stoic face, “Did you find Hayley?”
“Not yet. She probably went into hiding.”
Right after the words left his lips, he felt that the air in the room had dropped a few degrees lower.
Lifting his eyes at his boss, he saw a severely grim face-as he expected—and he was so terrified that he gulped quite a few times before he continued, “Even though she’s not found, our men have started to track her and found some clues.”
“What did you find?”
“We found the hotel she was staying in before this and that she had just checked out not long ago. For now, we can be sure that she’s still in Vienna,” Edward said, telling him the information from their investigations.
The look in Nicholas’ eyes were grim and dark as the air around him continued to turn colder. Although he wasn’t satisfied with this result, there was no way to find her right away.
After giving it some consideration, he parted his lips and asked solemnly, “How’s it going with the police?”
“The people we sent over have received their punishment. As for Hayley, a case has been set up against her, and they’re going to apprehend her.”
At this point, Edward paused hesitantly, and Nicholas asked with a knot between his brows when he saw that, “What’s wrong?”

Pursing his lips, Edward decided to tell the truth. “Although the police have issued a warrant for her, they’re not very quick about it because there is a lot of bureaucracy involved, and it’s very troublesome.”
“That’s okay, I’m doing this so that she can’t return home with ease.”
Nicholas narrowed his eyes dangerously, and Edward nodded, sighing secretly,
Previously, when Edward heard that Hayley was going on a vacation overseas, he thought that this woman had finally let go.
Unexpectedly, she was actually trying to escape unnoticed, sneaking to Vienna to harm Tessa.
While Nicholas had no idea what Edward was sighing about, he thought of the limited time he had and said in a low growl, “I don’t have so much patience to play cat-and-mouse with Hayley. Send more men to find her, and she must be found before she returns home. I don’t want to leave any hidden danger behind.”
“Will do. I’ll get more men to look for her.” Edward nodded and left.
Meanwhile, the person who Nicholas was pursuing, Hayley, was hiding in a hotel.
Since that night when she saw Nicholas’ appearance, she knew that things were not looking good for her and went into hiding first.
The place she was staying now was very far away from where Nicholas and the others were living.
At the same time, she was aware that she couldn’t hide here for long, and it was only a matter of time before Nicholas would find her.
At the thought of this, anxiety and frustration washed over her.
“Damn it. Why is that b*tch so lucky? And that bunch of useless bums as well-why didn’t they get on to it after they caught her but wasted so much time saying unnecessary things instead? This is all because of those useless bums. If they had gotten it over and done with, Nicholas wouldn’t be hunting for me now! Damn it, damn it!”
The more she grumbled, the angrier she became, and everything she saw made her mad. However, she still had a little rationale left and didn’t trash the room; she only threw the sheets off the bed and stomped on it furiously.
After throwing a tantrum for a few minutes, she plopped herself on the bed, gasping breathlessly as she started to think of her next steps.
She was clear of the fact that Nicholas wouldn’t let her off easily because of that sl*t, Tessa. Hence, the first thing she needed to do was think of a way to leave Vienna.
