Chapter 340 Vienna Conservatory’s Anniversary
As Tessa stared at the photos of the Reinhart Family on her phone screen, the tone in her voice was indescribably disgusted.
Suddenly, her phone rang. It turned out Nicholas was video calling her, so she answered it. However, she forgot to hide the depressed look on her face.
Nicholas asked with concern when he saw her unhappiness, “What’s wrong? Who made you upset?”
“No one upset me. It’s just that I saw the news back at home.”
She didn’t hide the fact that she knew about the news. Instead, she told him everything she knew that was happening back home. Only then did he realize that she had found out about this matter.
Before he could speak, he heard her gripe a little. “Why didn’t you tell me about such a huge issue? Everyone is hiding it from me. Since I’m not in the country right now, are you bullying me?”
“How are we bullying you?” Nicholas chuckled in amusement. Then, he explained his reasoning to her, saying, “I think Tim can handle this matter, so I didn’t tell you. Besides, Tim probably has the same thought like me, and he simply doesn’t want you to worry.”
“Don’t want me to worry? But I’m still worried in the end. You guys should tell me about things like this!”
“Okay, I’ll tell you if something happens in the future, alright?”
Then, as he looked at her pouting face, he said indulgently, “But I think you should also change your understanding of Tim. He’s no longer the child who depends on you for everything. Right now, he is capable of protecting himself, and you should also be prepared to be protected by him.”
Tessa was silent for a moment, but he eventually persuaded her to face the reality that Tim was all grown up now. Then, she let out a faint sigh and said, “You’re right. Tim is an adult now. So, I have to learn to let go.”
“It’s good that you can think that way,” Nicholas said and changed the subject. When he saw that she was still at home, he asked her, “Aren’t you going to the orchestra today?”
“Yeah, I’m going. I’ll get going in a while.”
After the two had been lovey-dovey for a while, she urged him to rest. Due to the time difference, it was actually late at night in Southend.
After hanging up the phone, she quickly freshened herself up. Then, she carried the violin case on her back and went to the orchestra.
As soon as she entered the orchestra lounge, she was told by Miss Hathaway’s assistant to go to the office before she had time to put the violin case down.

After knocking on the door, she went in and asked, “Miss Hathaway, is something the matter?”
“Half a month later, it will be Vienna Conservatory’s anniversary. There will be an event at that time, and they inquired whether I had anyone to recommend to perform as a soloist. Since it’s my alma mater, I have decided to choose you to play that part.”
Hathaway paused for a moment when she informed Tessa about this. Then, she stared straight at her and asked, “Do you have the confidence to perform alone in front of several hundred and thousands of people?”
Tessa inhaled sharply at her question, and her eyes could not hide her happiness. “Don’t worry, Miss Hathaway. I will definitely perform well.”
Although it’s only a small-scale performance opportunity in front of hundreds and thousands of people, I will cherish this opportunity. Whether big or small, the chance for me to perform is a chance for me to accumulate experiences.
Ever since she agreed to perform for the anniversary, she increased her practice time for that particular piece she will be performing in half a month’s time. Every day, she went out early and came back at dusk.
Hathaway also informed her that many famous musicians would attend the anniversary party that day. I hope my performance on the anniversary will be flawless, and I won’t embarrass Miss Hathaway.
Due to this, Tessa devoted her heart and soul to her practice. Sometimes, she did not even have free time to video call with Timothy, Nicholas, Gregory, and the others. Fortunately, the three of them did not care much. Instead, they were very supportive of her.
Day after day, the time went by. The day for Tessa’s performance for the anniversary was getting closer and closer. At the same time, Tessa’s birthday was also approaching soon.
On the day before the performance, Tessa and Nicholas video called each other.
“Nicholas, are you free tomorrow morning?”
As he stared at the girl’s expectant gaze in the video, his eyes gleamed for a second. He had already guessed the girl’s unspoken words. And thus, he apologized to her by saying, “I have a very important meeting tomorrow morning.”
“An important meeting…” Tessa sounded extremely disappointed. “I originally wanted to invite you to watch my performance. It’s such a pity then.”
