Upon departing from Lawrence’s residence, Jared realized Miya and Livya were still waiting for him. Livya dashed toward Jared the moment she spotted him. “Now that everything’s over, how about you join us for shopping, Mr. Chance?”
Seeing how enthusiastic Livya was, Jared didn’t have the heart to reject her invitation. Thus, he nodded. “Okay.”
In response, Miya beamed. Hence, the trio left the Seizon residence and went shopping on a busy street. Meanwhile, Livya began to phish for all sorts of information from Jared.
Casually, Livya inquired, “There’s something I want to ask about your companion, Mr. Chance. Who is Ms. Feenix to you?”
“She’s my friend!” replied Jared.
“Is she really only a friend to you?” Livya lifted her eyebrow. “I think I saw you two sleeping in the same room.”
Jared smiled wordlessly in response. I didn’t expect Livya to be secretly observing me. Seeing that Jared remained silent, Livya asked again, “Ms. Feenix is your woman, right? How many female partners do you have, Mr. Chance?”
Surprised by Livya’s question, he stared at her. Why is she asking me that question?
Upon witnessing his reaction, Livya clarified, “No need to feel embarrassed, Mr. Chance. It’s not out of the ordinary for a capable man like you to have multiple wives. Cade mentioned your alchemical skills are superior to Yellow Blue City’s master alchemist, Jubilante. Even he has a dozen female partners by his side. Considering you’re even better than him, it’s not at all unusual for you to have a harem.”
Jared was stunned by her words because he had never counted how many female partners he had acquired.
As he progressed through his journey, the number of women by his side increased. Inadvertently, he accepted all those women into his life.
However, regardless of how many women he had attracted, he could never forget Josephine and the promise he made to her. One day, he would keep his word and organize an unforgettable wedding for Josephine.
Seeing how Jared appeared to be occupied by his thoughts, Livya wanted to ask something. However, she was stopped by Miya. “Don’t you think you’re being annoying asking him one question after another? Even if you don’t, Mr. Chance’s probably irritated. We asked Mr. Chance to join us for shopping, not to listen to your blabber.”
“All right, fine, I’ll shut my mouth now. I see I’m distressing you by pestering him, Miya.” Livya giggled before darting away. She deliberately left to create an opportunity for Miya to spend some alone time with Jared.
“That d*mn brat…” Miya shot a glare at Livya before turning to Jared. “Don’t mind her, Mr. Chance. Sometimes, my sister can be a chatterbox.”
“It’s fine.” Jared smiled. As Miya spoke, she led Jared forward. “Let’s check the stalls ahead, Mr. Chance. There are many-”
Suddenly, they heard Livya screaming loudly, “Release me, you thug! Let me go!”
Without delay, Jared and Miya sprinted toward Livya. Not too far ahead of them, a towering young man was clutching Livya’s wrist. With a sleazy grin, he uttered, “Hey, do you think you can leave without apologizing for bumping into me gorgeous?”
The young man’s grip was so firm that Livya couldn’t escape. A few people were behind the young man, and they were all laughing. The surrounding bystanders were all startled.
“Who is this idiot? How dare he bully a daughter of the Seizon family!”
“He must be a foreigner. No locals would dare to court death by messing with a daughter of the Seizon family.”
“Look at the size of their bodies. I think they’re from Behemoth Palace.”
Though the crowd was chiding the foreigners, none dared provide aid to Livya.
