“You good-for-nothing! You’re bringing great shame on Zahrin Sect, you wretched child. What’s so terrifying about death? Why are you so cowardly?”
Lamar was appalled to see Kayden agreeing to Jared’s request, not to mention pleading with their opponent so submissively. He felt utterly embarrassed by his son’s behavior.
“Dad, a wise person knows better than to resist when the odds are against him. What good would our powers be if we were dead?” Kayden retorted shamelessly. “Shut your mouth! Don’t call me ‘Dad’ anymore. I’m not your father,” Lamar bellowed, his face flushed with anger.
“Are you really willing to relinquish your cultivation?” Jared asked as he sneered at Kayden. “Yes, I’m willing. Just spare me, and I’ll do anything you ask.” Kayden nodded fervently.
“Very well, then. Crawl over here. Once I’ve absorbed your cultivation, I’ll spare your life,” Jared declared. Without a moment of hesitation, Kayden crawled toward Jared.
“You good-for-nothing, I’ll kill you.” Lamar exploded with anger when he witnessed his son crawling toward Jared like a dog. At that moment, he made the decision to rid his family of such a shameful descendant. Just as Lamar was about to make his move, Chester and Wayne sprang into action.
The duo intercepted Lamar, effectively blocking his path. Lamar, weakened by his injuries, was no longer a match for them. Meanwhile, Kayden promptly arrived before Jared, who lightly pressed his hand against the former’s head.
In an instant, an immense suction force began extracting the cultivation within Kayden’s body. Kayden’s body trembled, and his face contorted into a fearsome expression. Even though he was in tremendous agony, he had no choice but to endure it in order to survive.
Soon after, every ounce of cultivation within Kayden’s body was absorbed by Jared. As of then, Kayden appeared as if he had aged ten-odd years, devoid of the aura of a cultivator. He struggled to rise to his feet and asked Jared. in a strained voice, “M-May I go now?”
Jared waved his hand and replied, “You may leave.”
With joy coursing through his veins, Kayden gleefully dashed toward a distant location. As his son’s figure rapidly receded, Lamar fell into deep thought. He did not understand the purpose behind his relentless pursuit of cultivation and expansion of his own desires.
Ultimately, even his own son’s loyalty eluded him. Such a realization struck Lamar with a heavy blow. After Kayden fled a distance away, a ferocious and savage demon wolf abruptly lunged at him.
He screamed in terror, frantically attempting to flee. Alas, as an ordinary person then, he stood no chance against the swift predator. The demon wolf swiftly closed in, sinking its sharp teeth into his arm and tearing it off with a vicious bite.
Kayden’s anguished cries filled the air as the demon wolf mercilessly tore him apart with its fangs, devouring his remains piece by piece until nothing remained but the echoes of his torment within its belly..
Lamar’s eyes widened in horror as he watched. his son being consumed by the wolf. In that harrowing instant, his mind shattered, and hel descended into madness. “I’m going to kill you, Jared! I won’t let you get your way even if it means sacrificing my life!”
Lamar knew that Jared never planned to let Kayden off. He was certain that Jared had sent that demon wolf to attack his son. Lamar let out a roar, his body beginning to swell. The spiritual power within him surged rapidly, causing a terrifying aura to emanate and spread through the air.
At that sight, Jared knew Lamar was prepared to self-destruct so as to perish alongside him. Hence, he quickly pulled the bowstring of Divine Bow.
Countless specks of light converged upon Divine Bow. A pristine white arrow appeared, poised and ready for release. Jared released the bowstring, and the white arrow flew toward Lamar.
The white arrow burst mid-air, creating a white web of spiritual energy that encased Lamar within its confines. The spiritual energy web gradually constricted, firmly restraining Lamar’s swollen body.
He struggled with all his might but to no avail. Just then, Jared, filled with murderous intent, advanced toward Lamar.
