Chapter 20 Not Familiar With The Term Like
Instantly, Yan Wan tensed up.
Although she was Huo Lichen’s fiancée, most of the staff were unaware about this.
Hence, when they have cancelled their engagement a month later, there would not be gossip around in the company.
However, they were cuddling together in the middle of the night. This was a scene they could not afford to let the guards see.
“Thanks for helping me, Mr. Huo. I’ll treat you to a meal sometime soon.” Yan Wan pushed the jacket into Huo Lichen’s hands and ran off.
She bolted like an Olympic sprinter and dashed out of the lobby without looking back.
Huo Lichen’s expression darkened with the jacket in his hands.
Countless people tried every method possible to get acquainted with him. But why is this woman so different from them?
At Seine Villa, a car was approaching the entrance.
The moment the car stopped, Wei Qi rushed to open the door and waited at a respectable distance.
He could tell that his boss was in a terrible mood that day and did not do anything out of line.
However, some people were tactless.
Qin Chu was wearing a bathrobe and a pair of slippers, as though it was his own house. He opened the main door of the villa and circled the car. Feeling puzzled, he asked, “Where’s sister-in-law? Isn’t she ill? Why isn’t she with you?”
Huo Lichen had given him a call out of the blue to wait at the villa, so he could guess that Yan Wan was unwell.
The chances of Huo Lichen falling sick was very low. He had a strong immune system, and rarely visited the doctor.
Huo Lichen’s mood worsened upon hearing that. He ignored Qin Chu and walked straight into the house.
Wei Qi reminded Qin Chu in a hushed tone, “Young Master Qin, there’s no one for you to tend to today. You can go back now.”
“Has Yan Wan recovered all of a sudden? That’s impossible.” Qin Chu suddenly thought of something, and when he saw Huo Lichen’s cold and stiff silhouette, he chuckled.
He caught up to him and pressed on, “Lichen, did you and Yan Wan get into a tiff?”
Tiff? That woman was faster than a rabbit and kept her distance from me. I don’t even have a chance to argue with her if I wanted to.
Qin Chu confirmed his speculation with Huo Lichen’s expression.
In recent years, Huo Lichen had matured rapidly. Everything was within his grasp, and he resolved all major issues with a calm demeanor. Basically, he had never seen him angry before.
So it was a rare sight to see him like this.
Qin Chu did not let go of the chance to add salt to the wound, “Lichen, you haven’t had a woman in ages. Do you not know how to court a girl? I noticed that sister-in-law was polite to you in the morning, but also very distant. It seems that she doesn’t like you.”
Huo Lichen’s eyes dulled. He had never thought of the word ‘like’ before.
Yan Wan was the woman with him that night, and now that he had found her, she should belong to him since she was his fiancée.

“Argh! How could a girl even fall in love with a boring man like you who knows nothing about romance? At this rate, this fake fiancée will only remain as a fake one. However, you’re lucky to be buddies with me. So if you ever need it, I can teach you my three hundred and sixty tricks to land any girl! Interested?”
Qin Chu gave a devilish smile.
If Huo Lichen were to ask him for help to woo a girl, he would brag about it for years to come.
Faced with Qin Chu’s incessant chatter, Huo Lichen said impatiently, “You can leave now.”
Qin Chu pouted. Huh? He’s chasing me out just like that? I can’t even enjoy the show now.

Huo Lichen could not be bothered with Qin Chu and headed upstairs.
Later on, he added, “Wei Qi, send him off.”
Qin Chu was speechless. How heartless of him.
Huo Lichen walked away indifferently. He had suppressed his feelings for the entire day, but he felt much better now.
Yan Wan was definitely aloof because of the fake engagement. From her perspective, they would be total strangers after a month, so it was only natural for her to keep her distance.
In fact, she was probably unaware that the man that night was him.
It seemed like he needed to tell her already.
The following morning, Yan Wan was still in deep sleep when she received a call from Gu Zifei. “This is bad, Wan!”

One of my people found out that your earring was in the Shangpin Hotel room, and that a cleaner had found it under the bed! I was told that the room was exclusively for that one man. If he didn’t bring other women in, he would definitely find out who you are from that lone earring!”
“What did you say?” Yan Wan nearly fell out of bed. She felt dizzy all of a sudden.
Did I lose that earring in the hotel? But those were custom-made earrings my grandmother gave me! It would be child’s play to find out who the owner is!
“Then…do you know where that earring is now? Is it possible to retrieve it?” Yan Wan’s voice was shaking.
“It’s still at Shangpin Hotel. However, they are well-known for their privacy policy, which is more secure than the Swiss bank. It’s impossible to even get the names of the hotel guests, let alone retrieve the earring.”
Shangpin Hotel would definitely give the earring to that man.
That day, he had given her a ferocious and menacing impression. To make matters worse, she had injured him. He would definitely not let her off so easily.
She shuddered at that thought.
“Wan, there’s a way to solve this.” Gu Zifei lowered her voice, as though it was a preposterous idea.
Yan Wan hurriedly asked, “What is it?”

Yan Wan clutched her phone tightly and suppressed her emotions.
She did not want Huo Lichen to know about this.
