An Understated Dominance Chapter 1073 by Marina Vittori

Jayden raised an eyebrow, having no idea what was happening. But he could see that Elena disliked Dustin.

“Since when did the Murray family have such low standards? How could someone like him enter our residence?” Hearing that, Sheila quickly explained, “Jayden, Dustin is my friend.”

“Friend?” Jayden sized Dustin up. “Sheila, you must know that with your status and identity, not everyone can be your friend.”

An insurance agent was part of the lower class. To Jayden, someone like Dustin was not even fit to shine his shoes.

“It’s hard to say whether I’m qualified to be her friend. But I know that although you’re Sheila’s cousin, you’re clearly not a kind person,” Dustin retorted. Roxanne glared at Dustin, scolding, How bold of you to say that! Who do you think you are?

“How could you accuse my brother? Bastards like you deserve to be beaten up!” As she spoke, she lifted her whip and was about to strike Dustin.

But Jayden raised his hand to stop her. Then he asked coldly, “You’re Dustin, right? I don’t think I’ve offended you, so why are you accusing me?”

“Accusing you?” Dustin snorted. “Don’t you know what you just did? You pretended to care about Sheila, but you secretly schemed against her. “And because of what you did, Sheila fell off her horse. Did you think no one would notice?”

“W–what nonsense are you talking about?”

Jayden’s eyes widen in panic. He could feel his heart racing. But when he realized he lost his composure, he forced himself to calm down so no one would notice. In that split second, his true character was revealed. He really was a cunning person.

“You know if I’m saying nonsense or not. Just for a horse, you harmed your cousin. Are you even human?” Dustin questioned coldly.

At that point, Jayden lost his cool and shouted, “How outrageous! Don’t blame me for beating you up for all the bullshit you’re saying!”

“You bastard! I’m ordering you to apologize to my brother now! Otherwise, you’re going to pay for this! Roxanne threatened fiercely. Elena tried to make matters worse, too..

“Mr. Murray! If I were you, I’d cut off his tongue and feed it to the dogs to release my anger!” Meanwhile, Dahlia observed from the side with indifference. She did not say a word the entire time.

“Dustin, is there a misunderstanding? Jayden has always been very kind to me. How could he possibly harm me?” Sheila was skeptical.

Ever since they were kids, Jayden had always been gentlemanly and elegant. Whenever Sheila made a mistake, he would always protect her. Sometimes, Jayden would even take the blame for her.

Although Jayden was her cousin, Sheila felt he was her biological brother. Because of this, Roxanne would often feel jealous and compete with her over everything.

“Sheila, I saw it with my own eyes. He’s the reason behind why you fell. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have lost,” Dustin declared. Roxanne was livid. “Nonsense! It was a mistake on her end! What does this have to do with my brother?”

“Hey, insurance agent, I think you’re just stirring trouble. We were all standing next to Mr. Murray earlier. “If he had done anything suspicious, do you think none of us would have noticed?” Elena remarked, looking at Dustin with disdain.

“That’s right! Mr. Murray is an honest and straightforward person. He’d never do such a despicable thing!” “You better not make false accusations!

Everyone started scolding Dustin. Even Sheila’s friends cast disapproving glances at Dustin. They could not believe he would do such a shameless thing to get attention. Everyone thought Dustin was acting like a madman, attacking anyone as he liked.

“Dustin, you must be mistaken, right? I believe Jayden isn’t that kind of person, “Sheila said while shaking her head. “You can never judge a book by its cover. You can never know what people are planning,” Dustin reminded her.

Jayden retorted, “Dustin, you claimed I’ve sabotaged her. Do you have any evidence?” “That’s right! Without any proof, you’re just making baseless claims! Show us the evidence if you can!” Roxanne shouted as she pointed her whip at Dustin.

“If you don’t have evidence, then you’re spouting nonsense! I’ll cut off your tongue to teach you a lesson!”

“You want evidence? Fine.” With that said, Dustin walked toward Gale. He examined the horse and asked, ” Before the race started, Jayden touched Gale’s head. Everyone remembers that, right?”

“So what if we remember?” Roxanne snapped. But Dustin did not respond. He lightly traced Gale’s head with his fingers. When he touched a slight bump, Dustin pulled hard.

A black steel needle stained with blood was pulled out from Gale. Dustin held the needle up for everyone to see. “There! That’s the evidence all of you wanted!”

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
