Always Been Yours Chapter 795

Chapter 795 Family Time

Heeding Tobias’ call, the crowd made their way to the dining room. After everyone took their seats, Kieran and Timothy wolfed down the food.

Even though Timothy was used to his sister’s cooking, ever since Tessa went overseas, he didn’t have much of an opportunity to taste her cooking, so he missed it a lot. As for Kieran, he thought it simply sumptuous.

Of course, he had his fair share of delicacies, but he still thought that his sister-in-law’s cooking was even better than food outside, for there was some sort of special taste to it. All in all, he loved it.

Especially the sweet pork ribs. It was sweet but not too greasy, and the texture was immaculate. He almost couldn’t stop eating.

Coincidentally, it was also one of Timothy’s favorite dishes. In a flash, the plate of sweet pork ribs was running out.

Kieran and Timothy exchanged glances, then began to childishly fight each other for food.

Seeing the two refusing to give in, Tessa didn’t know if she should laugh or cry. However, she decided to ignore them.

Instead, she turned around and placed food on Nicholas’ and Gregory’s plates.

“Thank you, Mommy.” Gregory thanked her happily, and Nicholas also told Tessa to eat more.

Tessa nodded, then invited her parents-in-law to have more food. Seeing the dishes in front of them, Stefania and Tobias were a little touched.

Obviously, Tessa had made these dishes according to everyone’s tastes, especially the soup at the end; it was simply divine. She was very considerate.

Gregory finished his meal with a bowl of soup, a look of satisfaction on his face as he said, “I’m so full.”

After everyone saw his expression, they chuckled kindly. Nicholas also had quite the appetite as he ate double of Gregory’s amount.

Seeing his son and grandson eating happily, Tobias had a loving look in his eyes as he gazed at Tessa.

“You don’t have to work so hard in the kitchen next time.”

“Yes, the kitchen staff can do all these. Don’t overwork; you’re pregnant with my granddaughter, after all.”

Stefania agreed, her soft heart hidden beneath her sharp words. Tessa nodded, appearing to be in an excellent mood. She could see that the two were slowly accepting her.

“Don’t worry, I can take care of myself.”

As Timothy listened in on the conversation, the sorrow in his heart dissipated considerably. Because of what happened before, he still held a grudge. Tonight, however, when he saw that the elders of the Sawyer Family didn’t bully his sister, he knew it was a good sign.

Perhaps given enough time, the elders of the Sawyer Family would be able to slowly accept his sister. Of course, he would work even harder to develop the company so that he could become a strong backing for his sister to fall on.

After dinner, the crowd went back to the living room. Perhaps because of his good mood, Tobias made a suggestion.

“Nicholas, we haven’t played chess in a while, so let’s play a few rounds tonight.”

Nicholas naturally agreed and asked Andrew to fetch the chessboard. Soon, the two began to duke it out on the chessboard. Meanwhile, Kieran and Timothy accompanied Gregory in a fun educational game.

Gregory thoroughly enjoyed himself, and his laughter resounded throughout the living room. When Tessa emerged with cut fruit, she beheld the warm and happy scene.

“Mom, have some fruit.” She walked over and extended the invitation to Stefania.

Stefania nodded and took a piece of apple to eat while Tessa sat beside her, suddenly unsure of what to say. As opposed to the merry atmosphere among the others, they looked terribly awkward together.

Nicholas, however, noticed the weird atmosphere between the two, but he couldn’t think of a good way to help his wife. Tobias suddenly noticed Nicholas’ lack of attention, and when he followed the latter’s gaze, he naturally realized the problem.

“Miss Reinhart, I heard from Nicholas that you finished a performance not long ago. Why don’t you play a song for us?”

Tessa was feeling a little awkward, so now that she had something to do, of course she wouldn’t decline. “Then I’ll go get my violin.”

“I’m going too. I want to play with Mommy.”

Just then, Gregory skipped over to her happily.

Stefania and Tobias agreed naturally. They had loving smiles on their faces as they said, “Sure, we’ve never heard Greg play before.”
