“I’m not going back!” Wanda refused without hesitation as soon as she heard Horace’s words. “I’m already a grown-up, Grandpa, so you don’t have to intervene in my business!”
Never had Horace expected that Wanda would say such words to him. In that split second, he was so enraged that he couldn’t breathe. Then, his eyes rolled back, and he fainted.
Wanda was terrified. “Grandpa!” The driver saw what happened and immediately made a U-turn to go to the hospital. The next morning, at the Sawyer Residence, Remus was having breakfast when lan approached him.
“Old Master Sawyer, I have just gotten news that Mr. Muller fainted last night and was sent to the hospital.” “Fainted?” Remus was surprised and worried at the same time.
After Remus finished breakfast, he immediately asked lan to take him to the hospital. When he stepped into the ward and saw his friend’s pale face, he felt sad, “Why did you faint all of a sudden?” asked Remus.
When Horace saw Remus, he was still gloomy. “You came.”
Seeing his reaction, Remus asked in concern, “What’s wrong? Is it something to do with your body?”
When Horace saw that Remus was sincerely worried about him, Horace told him what happened after some hesitation. “The Hadfield Family caused trouble at my house last night.”
Technically speaking, he shouldn’t have told Remus about his family scandal, but he thought that this matter had something to do with the Sawyer Family, so he caved in. After all, if Remus had never implied that the Sawyer Family wanted to have an engagement with the Muller Family, Wanda would never have acted this way.
When Remus heard his words, he knew what Horace was implying and was at a loss for words. After some time, he sighed and said, “I thought the matter was dealt with after we reached an understanding. Wanda seemed fine after that as well. I never expected that she would become such an extreme person.”
“She takes after her father. They don’t give up easily once they put their minds to a goal.” lamented Horace. He didn’t know how to deal with Wanda either..
After some time, Remus left the hospital with a heavy heart. As he got in the car, he thought of something and said, “Bring me to Sawyer Group”
The driver nodded and started the car. When Remus entered the company, he didn’t ask the others to notify Nicholas and directly went to his office.
“Grandpa? Why are you here?” Nicholas was surprised at Remus’ arrival. With the help of his walking stick, Remus walked to the couch and sat down. “I went to visit Horace at the hospital just now.” He told Nicholas the truth.
Nicholas nodded. He had already heard the news of Horace being admitted to the hospital. “Is he alright?”
“He’s fine. He is just upset.” As Remus spoke, he looked at Nicholas with hesitation. Looking at his expression, Nicholas raised his eyebrow and asked, “Is there something you wish to tell me, Grandpa?”
After some consideration, Remus still decided to speak his mind. “Yes. I hope you can talk to Wanda for the sake of Mr. Muller. After all, you are the reason for her doings. I’m sure that
everything will come to an end if you talk to her.” He didn’t need to feel guilty about it since he was just asking Nicholas to persuade Wanda.
However, he never expected Nicholas to refuse immediately as soon as he heard his request. “I can’t do anything about this.”
Remus disagreed with his words and said, “Why not? She loves you. I’m sure she’ll listen to you if you talk to her.”
However, Nicholas was persistent. “If a person were to continue their wrongdoings even when they know it is their fault, they are hopeless. No matter how much others try to talk them out of it, it would be useless.”
Remus was rendered speechless. “Moreover, if Wanda was really repentant, she would have listened to Mr. Muller and gone abroad herself,” Nicholas added.
In the end, Remus could only return home because he wasn’t able to argue against Nicholas.
