His spiritual sense expanded immediately. Jared wanted to use it to investigate what was happening in front.
However, Jared’s spiritual sense had just spread out when it rebounded as if it had bumped into an invisible wall. It was impossible for his spiritual sense to expand any further.
Jared opened his eyes. Staring at the spot a few meters in front of him, he stretched out his hands and moved them around.
“What are you doing, Mr. Chance?” asked Donald, puzzled at what Jared was doing.
“This is an illusion. We’ve run for so long, but in reality, we have not left this place yet. That’s why the two mountains at the side of the roads look identical…”
A red glow emanated from Jared’s hands. Under the light of the red glow, an almost invisible wall, which resembled the ripples of water, appeared in front of them.
“Did someone set up an arcane array here to prevent others from venturing into the valley?” suggested Donald, sounding like he had just understood something.
“Probably. However, I still haven’t discovered where the core of the arcane array is and how to destroy it…” said Jared as he nodded.
“Is there something lying in the depths of the valley? Why is there an arcane array?” Donald was still confused.
“I’m not sure about that. Now, we have to pass by this wall before we can truly enter the depths of the valley.”
The red glow from Jared’s hands became brighter, and the wall became even clearer.
Donald walked forward and touched the glass-like wall gently. However, when he stretched his arm forward, it passed through the wall. Soon after, Donald walked through it.
He was shocked. “Mr. Chance, did I just pass through it? There’s nothing special about it.”
Jared shook his head. “You didn’t pass through it. If you walk forward now, the scenery will still look the same. If you have truly passed through this wall, you would be seeing a completely different scene. Since you don’t really know about these things, I can’t explain them to you in-depth. This is like how a third or fourth-dimensional space works. If you pass through this wall, it’ll be like entering a different dimension of space…”
“An entrance to another dimension?” blurted Donald. “Mr. Chance, although I know that some arcane arrays are really strange, what you’re saying is simply too ridiculous. How can there be such an arcane array?”
Donald did not believe it at all. However, Jared did not say anything. Instead, he pushed his arm toward the wall slowly.
His arm passed through it gradually. To Donald, it looked like Jared had suddenly lost his arm.
Donald widened his eyes. “Mr. Chance, why did your arm disappear?”
Looking at his own body, Jared did not panic. Instead, he exclaimed excitedly, “I think I know how to pass through the wall now!”
Soon, Jared ran forward. As if he had just appeared in another dimension of space, the view around him changed.
“Mr. Chance… Mr. Chance!” yelled Donald anxiously when he realized that Jared had suddenly disappeared.
“Wait for me here! I’ll go take a look first.”
Jared’s voice reached Donald’s ears, but he was nowhere to be seen. Only then did Donald believe what Jared had said earlier.
“Is this a barrier?” Looking at his surroundings, Jared recalled that Draco had mentioned this before.
A barrier was able to seal a particular space with an arcane array. Yet, outsiders could not realize that the space had just disappeared. Hence, Jared was still within the Medicine God Sect and had not entered another dimension.
The mountains at the side were still the same. However, they just looked a bit different. The trees were lusher, and he could spot a lot of animals.
