Understanding what they were planning, Jared headed toward the mountain’s peak without needing them to force him. Meanwhile, the demon beasts trailed behind Jared quietly. Surprisingly, none of them. unleashed their attacks on him. Curiosity filled Jared, but he could not get an answer because he didn’t know how to communicate with the demon beasts. All he could do now was get to the peak to find out what the demon beasts. wanted to achieve.
He soon arrived at the summit of the mountain. To his surprise, he spotted a stone-made house decorated extravagantly. It was evident that such a well-decorated house wasn’t constructed by the demon beasts.
“Is this someone’s house?” Jared murmured to himself, overjoyed. He had never expected someone to reside on the peak of Demon Beast Mountain.
All of a sudden, an idea struck Jared. He wondered whether these demon beasts were pets reared by the owner of the house. That will be the only way to explain the house and traces of human activities here.
Jared slowly approached the house and pushed open the door. As he did so, a pleasant scent wafted into his nostrils. He scanned the interior of the house and realized no one was around, but the house consisted of plenty of household goods and proper furniture. There was even a dressing table with a mirror on it. Shocked, Jared wondered out loud, “Is the owner a female?” He examined the layout of the bedroom, concluding that the occupant was indeed a woman.
Subsequently, he stepped into the room while the demon beasts paced back and forth outside. None of them dared to get close. After looking around the room and noticing there was no one inside, he walked back out.
However, the moment he exited the room, a loud whistle sounded, and the sky darkened instantly. A colorful phoenix circled in the sky, and the demon beasts knelt on the ground one after another, growling and showing respect.
Jared was dumbfounded by the appearance of the phoenix. Gripping his Dragonslayer Sword tightly, he prepared himself to fend off the creature’s potential attacks.
The colorful phoenix landed on the ground after spotting Jared. The moment it touched the ground, a golden light flashed past, and the phoenix shapeshifted into a young woman. She was alluringly beautiful with fair skin and shoulder-length dark hair.
When Jared moved his gaze downward, he realized the young lady’s private parts were covered with phoenix feathers. Even so, the man still felt indescribable passion and lust creeping up on him. After all, he was an ordinary man with desires.
However, the thought of the woman’s true form being a phoenix forced him to tamp down his desires. The young woman glanced at Jared before shifting her gaze to the demon beasts behind her. Then, she caressed the Blazing Tiger’s head gently.
The Blazing Tiger gave out a low growl as though communicating with the young lady. The young lady’s jaw dropped, and her eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at Jared.
“Who are you? Why did you barge into the Demon Beast Mountain?” the young lady asked. Jared didn’t know what to say, so he could only recount the ins and outs of the entire situation.
The young lady’s face fell after she listened to Jared’s story. “You guys invaded our territory and started a massacre just for the sake of improving your own capabilities. Do you have any idea how hard we worked to up our capabilities just to survive?”
“W-Who are you? How did you transform from a phoenix into a human?” Jared asked in fear. “I’m Feenix. We demon beasts can shapeshift into human form when we reach a certain cultivation level,” the young lady explained to Jared.
