As the recruitment of martial trainees was progressing steadily, the official change of the appearance of Deragon Sect was scheduled to take place three days later. Most of Jadeborough’s martial artists were invited.
The fact that Jared became a Greater Martial Arts Marquis in his twenties was bound to attract a lot of attention. While most of them admired his skills, others were jealous of his success. Naturally, there would also be people who wanted to curry favor with him.
While Deragon Sect became all the rage in the martial arts world of Jadeborough, it was not that well-received by those in the Warriors Alliance. Skylar’s expression turned gloomy when he saw Jared’s success.
How did Jared get this far? He was a nobody a year ago! I could’ve easily crushed him with just my pinky finger! How is it possible for him to undergo such a huge transformation in just one year?
As much as Skylar hated to accept this fact, he knew he had no other choice.
“Ugh… Let’s just hope that Jared’s success will draw Lord Tanner’s attention. Maybe he’ll send some Black Silver Robes after him…” Skylar mumbled to himself.
I just don’t get it… I work really hard and have the smarts required, so why am I still inferior to Jared? He and I are the only ones to reach Greater Martial Arts Marquis in Jadeborough’s martial arts world! Well, there’s also Edgar, but he died long ago.
“Jared was able to defeat you even though you had a sacred martial arts relic. It looks like your cultivation level won’t go any higher than this,” said the spirit inside him in a disappointed tone.
“I… What other choice do I have? I was unable to kill Jared even with the help of a sacred martial arts relic! That woman he’s with is ridiculously powerful! I attacked her with the sacred martial arts relic, but it didn’t do any damage!” Skylar exclaimed helplessly.
“It looks like your position as president of Warriors Alliance is hindering your cultivation training. I think you should stop worrying about Warriors Alliance and just focus on your cultivation,” said the spirit..
Skylar let out a wry chuckle. “You think I don’t want to? I can’t maintain my position as president here without being powerful!”
He had long since thought about quitting. That was especially the case now since Jared had gotten stronger and established Deragon Sect.
With most of Jadeborough’s martial arts world flocking over to Deragon Sect, Warriors Alliance would have little to no influence in Jadeborough.
That resulted in a loss of authority and power. Suddenly, a black cloud floated into the lobby, and a man in black robes appeared seconds later.
As Skylar shifted his gaze toward the man, he noticed a silver logo and quickly got on his knees. “Greetings, sir!”
The Black Silver Robe fighter shot him a disdainful glance as he said coldly, “Lord Tanner is extremely displeased with your recent performance. He has sent me to take your place.”
As Skylar had wanted to leave Warriors Alliance, he was secretly overjoyed when he heard that. “I’m sorry to have disappointed Lord Tanner. with my incompetence!” he said apologetically.
“Hmph!” The man in the black robe then waved his hand and caused the black robe on his body to disappear, revealing himself as a fair-skinned young man in his twenties.
Skylar gasped in shock when he saw the young man’s appearance. As the men had always covered their faces with their black robes, Skylar never knew they had such young members, especially one that was a Black Silver Robe.
Although the man was a few years younger than Skylar, his power was far greater in comparison. That came as a huge blow to Skylar’s ego.
“Is Jared having the sect’s opening ceremony in three days?” the young man asked. “Y-Yes…” Skylar nodded with a conflicted look on his face.
“Prepare an expensive gift. I will be visiting Deragon Sect in three days,” the young man ordered coldly. “But Jared is-”
Skylar was cut off mid-sentence by a slap across the face. “Did you not hear what I said?” the young man asked while glaring fiercely at Skylar.
“H’ll see to it right away!” Skylar mumbled with his head held low.
