Howard personally drove to the Department of Justice to pick Jared up.
The instant he spotted the man, he hugged him tightly.
“You were incredible that you even killed the sect leader of Malison Sect, Jared! You’re the most outstanding among the younger generation in the entire martial arts world in Jadeborough henceforth!”
Howard’s eyes teemed with envy.
In response, Jared flashed him a faint smile.
“You flatter me, Howard! Is there something urgent that you’d been looking for me?”
“Oh, not at all. It’s just that my father would like to meet you. Also, many prestigious martial arts families have their sights set on you. My father invited you to come and hide out at our house for a while,” Howard ventured.
“Please thank Old Mr. Dunn on my behalf. But avoidance can’t last forever, and there’s no escaping the inevitable.”
Jared didn’t want to hide out at the Dunn residence. Instead, he was planning to go to Medicine God Sect to visit Rayleigh and the others and have them bring him to Village of Villains.

However, he was presently still in the dark about the force of Village of Villains.
“My father has prepared a grand banquet at home. If you don’t want to stay at our house, you don’t mind coming over for a meal, right? That can prove that you have close ties with the Dunn family. If other prestigious martial arts families want to make a move against you, they’ll have to consider the capabilities of the Dunn family.”
Howard extended an invitation to Jared.
Seeing as the man had said as much, Jared couldn’t quite decline further. After all, a meal wasn’t going to delay him for long.
After getting into the car, he went with Howard to the Dunn residence.
When they arrived, Lachlan personally came out to welcome him.
“Haha, I’ve heard Howard mentioning you long ago. Getting to meet you in person, I can tell that you’re indeed worthy of your reputation. You’re exceedingly famous presently, Mr. Chance!”
Lachlan shook hands with Jared courteously.
“You flatter me, Old Mr. Dunn,” Jared countered with a smile.
Soon, they all took their seats at the dining table, where a feast awaited.
“Make yourself at home here, Mr. Chance. Don’t stand on formality. I’m glad that Howard has a friend like you. All he does is have fun every day, not in the least bit serious with his training. The younger generation in the martial arts world of the whole of Jadeborough is far better than him!”
While saying that, Lachlan cast an exasperated look at Howard.
“Why are you always complaining about me, Dad? I think I’m already working hard enough. Few young people could be as talented as Jared, shooting to stardom at such a tender age!”
Howard glowered at his father in chagrin.
“Look, you’re disgruntled just because I said a few words about you!”
Meanwhile, Lachlan glared daggers at his son.
“Old Mr. Dunn, Howard is actually pretty good. Besides, he’s straightforward and has no malicious intentions. With such a personality, he’ll definitely go far in the future.”
Jared hurriedly spoke up on behalf of Howard.
When Jared mentioned having no malicious intentions, a flash of embarrassment flittered across Lachlan’s eyes, but no one noticed it.
“It’s because he’s straightforward that I’m afraid he’ll be taken advantage of in the future. I hope you’ll lend him a hand in time to come, Mr. Chance!” Lachlan urged smilingly.
“We’re friends, so I’ll definitely help him!”
Jared nodded in assent.
“Maddox, go and get my treasured Black Ivory coffee!”
Lachlan looked at his butler, throwing him a meaningful glance.
“Understood!”
Spinning on his heel, Maddox left.
“You’re lucky, Jared. My father’s Black Ivory coffee is so exclusive that he doesn’t even allow me to drink it. It’s only thanks to you that I’ve got an opportunity to sample it today,” Howard said to Jared.
Jared’s lips curved into a faint smile. “I’m flattered, Old Mr. Dunn.”
He didn’t suspect anything despite Lachlan’s enthusiasm.
After all, he could tell that Howard was an honorable man, so he reckoned that his father couldn’t be any worse.
